To Lucy’s family…. I just found out on Facebook of Lucy’s passing! Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. I never met Lucy in person. She was my late husband’s (Bill Hyatt) cousin. Apparently they hadn’t seen each other since they were kids. I’m not sure how we linked up on Facebook. I enjoyed her pictures of her travels.

Dear Family of Lucy, I am very sorry to hear of Lucy’s passing. I just commented that I need to call her, but alas too late. I have many fond memories of Lucy. She used to babysit us( the Brown Family) and was a great help to my mom. I babysat for her as well. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and I know she is rejoicing with her loved ones. My mom and dad would be there to greet her. I am in Florida so was unable to attend the funeral, regrettably. Much love to all.

Jean and I were often challenged by Lucy's vision for the needs of others , those less fortunate than she was . She would hear of a need somewhere and respond.
We remember her as a person who cared for people. This was very clearly demonstrated over many years because of her love of people and the Lord .
Enthusiastically she would make quilts, bedrolls, mittens and scarves etc and encourage others to do the same .
The product of her work was often sent to needy people whom she had never met living in far away locations .
What a blessing she was as a result !!

Lucy and I have shared many adventures over the last 20 years. She was an incredible woman who loved her family and was close to everyone of them.. She worked tirelessly making quilts, or hats.or mitts, or whatever was needed in needy communities. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. I will especially miss our rousing games of Kings Crib - she would sometimes allow me to beat her. Rest in peace my dear friend.

Offering my sincere sympathy and prayers to all of Lucy’s family and friends at this sad time. I met Lucy when I first started attending Bethel Baptist over 20 years ago and she was such an amazing woman. She loved life and she truly lived it. Most of all, she loved her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Lucy will be dearly missed by so many. We will meet again, dear friend!
