Obituary of Edwin L. Beattie

On Tuesday, March 20th 2018, at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, Edwin L Beattie, formerly of Mt. Brydges passed away in his 90th year. He was a resident of Season's in Strathroy for over 5 years. Previously, Edwin farmed in Caradoc Twp. and was a member of Cooks United Church and Administrator for Cooks Cemetery Board. Mr. Beattie was a former director of the Caradoc Delaware Mutual and a long time member of the Rising Star Masonic Lodge #81 in Mount Brydges.  He was predeceased by his father Lorne (1930) and his mother Mamie (nee Mills 1984). He is survived by his many cousins. Edwins knowledge of local history and the Beattie, McCracken and Carruthers families was extensive and will be missed. 

Friends will be received at the Elliott Madill Funeral Home in Mount Brydges, Friday March 23rd, from 7pm to 9pm. A Masonic Service will be held at 6:30 pm. The Funeral Service is to follow on Saturday from the funeral home commencing at 3:30 pm. Pastor Elizabeth Parsons will be officiating with interment Cook’s Cemetery. Donations to Cooks United Church or the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
