I was honoured to be able to sit beside John for his last few years in the new horizons band. (I played Tuba) we enjoyed each other’s company and conversation immensely. He was quite knowledgeable of the music history of the mount Brydges Strathroy area. I had sent him the odd email after he had stopped playing to keep in touch. I am very sorry to hear of his passing and sorry that I couldn’t have visited him before he went.
