With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our dear friend and neighbour. Peter was known for his warmth and kindness, and also his great sense of humour and wit.
Peter was not just a neighbour, he was known as the “Grandfather on the street” handing out cookies and chatting the boys every chance he had.
We would have long discussions about gardening, golf, birdwatching, and our favourite, butterflies!
We will cherish the memories we made, knowing he is no longer with us in person, but his spirit will live on in our hearts, forever a part of our community.
With love and gratitude,
The Carnegie family

This week, our community lost an incredible man. Peter was a true friend to us, a wonderful neighbour, and a constant source of kindness, love, and generosity. For the past ten years, we’ve been so fortunate to have Peter and Janet in our lives. Peter’s presence will be deeply missed, and our hearts ache with his passing.
I will forever cherish the memories we made together—the many conversations about education, his family, our boys, and our quiet afternoons and evenings with drinks on the back deck and by the pool. Peter had a way of bringing warmth and joy to every moment, and we feel so lucky to have shared so many good times with such a strong, courageous man.
Though our hearts are heavy, we will hold Peter’s spirit close, always and continue those good times with the love of his life, Janet. Peter’s impact on our family will never be forgotten. I’ll remember how, when we would ask, “How are you doing today, my friend?” he’d often respond with something like, “Living the dream, Amanda,” or “It’s a great day, I’m still kickin’,” or “Look at that sun shining.” He was a true ray of sunlight even in the dark days.
As we say goodbye to Peter, let’s strive to live with the same grace, kindness, and joy that he brought to the world. He will live forever in our hearts, and may his spirit continue to inspire us all. ❤️
Gone but not forgotten. Love you Peter, love from our family to yours ❤️

Janet - Shirley & I were deeply saddened to learn of Peter's passing. He and I had so many great times
together as matchplay partners. He always said we need to "ham& egg" - and I guess we did that
as we won the Master's matchplay one year.
We often reminised about that win against Brad Kililiegh & Cec Jackson. Brad had a favourite response
to a hole loss - "I didn't see that coming"!
He was taken aback after I chipped in on #17 for a team bird &
then Peter made a 40 foot putt on #18 for our win. Brad "didn't see that coming".
May you cherish the many memories of a loved by all friend and find support from your many friends & family.
We are still in BC & will miss the celebration of a life well lived but our thoughts & prayers are with you as you
deal with your difficult loss of husband & best friend.
Hugs - Ross & Shirley
