Obituary of Shirley Ilene Vine
After a short stay at the Manor Village in London, Ontario, Shirley Ilene Vine passed away on August 29th, 2023, in her 88th year.
She was predeceased by her husband John (2018), her parents Ernest & Erma (MacIntyre) Sutherland, her brother Keith Sutherland, her in-laws Dr Glen Vine and Agnes (MacKay) Vine, and numerous purr-babies.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Eileen (Vansickle) Sutherland, her close cousin Lorraine McVeigh & family.
Shirley was a long-time employee of Pumps & Softeners, Limited in London, where she and John lived following their marriage. She was also a lifelong, very active and involved member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Komoka, where she grew up.
Shirley will be fondly remembered by her relatives and friends for her quiet humour and her kind and generous personality. She will be especially missed by her many church friends, her lunch ladies, her long-time friends, Olga Lloyd, Gordon and Ila Giffen, Penny Harman, Jim Desand and her “goddaughters” Lynne Gerryts, Bonnie Giffen, Kim Vegso and their families.

As per Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
A service and celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday September 5th, 2023, commencing at 1 pm at Elliott-Madill Funeral Home, 22424 Adelaide Road, Mount Brydges.
A time of refreshment will follow at the Elliott Hall.
