We were so sorry to hear about the sudden passing of Dolores. She was a kind, wonderful woman who had a sharp sense of humour…,I used to kid her about her “lead foot” while travelling over to Church in Kokomo back in the day. Dolores was an integral part of the Church congregation and I know we’ll all miss seeing her and Jack sitting together like they did for so many years.

To the Lamont family - our family friendship with your families, go back to when Dad (Art Manning) purchased Rock & Dan from Jack, guessing at least over 40 years ago. Being so young when I met Dolores, she became "mom" to me, but looking back now, we would consider her our "show mom today on the fair circuit". Always there willing to help and ask how everything was and what had I been up to. We had many fun times at fall fairs showing our Percheron Horses - whether against each other or helping each other out - being told at Bridgen Fair numerous years when the Lamont family was hooking the four horse hitch, "Carol, climb up on the wagon and grab the lines from Jack & Bob while they hitch them. Jack asking is the line straight" But if you came around at lunch time on show day, there was always the container of sandwiches and some type of dessert - usually butter tarts. I can still hear Dolores saying, "come on have one, there's lots". She was a very special lady and I will treasure the memories we have together, and that includes her butter tart recipe which she gave me and signed it Dolores "Mom" Lamont. My thoughts are with all of you. Your memories of your wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother will help you get through the toughest days that are ahead. Love to each of you.

Jack and family:
My sincere condolences to you in your sadness. So many memories come to mind of the time Dolores and I shared the apartment on Becher St. I was in that area and passed the building last fall and remembered walking to/from work together. On one occasion I bought a table (still have) at the Salvation Army Thrift store. We laughed at the curious looks and horn honks we got carrying it home the 10 - 12 blocks in our dresses and high heel shoes. It was always good to have a little visit at Western Fair when you folks were there with the horses and wagon. My heart hurts for you and the journey you now travel without that warm, sparkly lady by your side. With caring thoughts.
