Obituary of Ruth Mae Hayes

After a loving, beautiful, and short life, Ruth (Ruthie) Mae Hayes of Mount Brydges passed away in the caring arms of her parents. She was the cherished daughter of Jonathan and Elizabeth, adored sister of Daniel and her loving extended family. Born on January 31st, 2023, with multiple known heart issues and Down Syndrome, Ruthie was only expected to live minutes. Her strength and miraculous heart carried her happily for almost 2 weeks, she went to be with the Lord on February 13th, 2023. She was an absolute blessing to her family and all who heard her story. 

We would like to thank all the staff at MOMA (Elle), Mount Sinai (Dr. Van Mieghem), Dr. Banner (LHSC), the fetal cardiology and palliative teams at Sick Kid’s Toronto and Victoria Hospital, as well as Emily’s House and Paramed (Stephanie) for their care and compassion provided during her beautiful life. 

Our deepest love to the numerous friends and family that have supported us through this journey. Ruthie’s life saw days of joy, happiness, and love because of all of you.
