Lacey Costa

Obituary of Lacey Marie Costa

Lacey Marie Costa, of St. Thomas, gained her wings and became an angel on the morning of November 19th, 2022. She fought invasive metastatic melanoma so incredibly hard. In the end, surrounded by so much love, and her parents Kristy and Dave, she left as graceful as she came into our lives.

Lacey was predeceased by Octavio Da Costa (Papa), Beverly and Gerry van Diepen (Oma and Opa), as well as her Aunt Stacey Costa. Lacey’s village included grandparents Karen Smith and Glenn Almas, and Luisa Da Costa, and her many aunts and uncles: Rene and Loes, Marnie and Wally,  Ashley and Kathy, Lee, and Renee and Mark. Lacey will also be immensely missed by her cousins Djim and Merle, Jaycee, Clayton, Katelyn, “big” Abby, Ethan, Avery and “little” Abby. Remembered and missed by extended family.

Lacey loved her dance and riding communities, along with so many dear friends; many of whom became like family to her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday November 28th, 2022 at Elliott-Madill Funeral Home in Mt. Brydges. A visitation will be held from 11am-1pm, followed by a service at 1pm. At the request of the family, Lacey Strong support wear, or the Lacey Strong colours of black and gold, can be worn in honour of Lacey’s strength.

In lieu of flowers, donations to ChildCan or the Fight Like Mason Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Lacey was a strong, courageous, and caring young girl who fought with so much grace. Let’s honour her by keeping the fight against childhood cancer alive.
