I knew Nicolee through her beloved home in Anguilla, Sweet Return. After our first stay there, she kindly invited us back for a second visit at no charge, which I think perfectly sums up just how kind and generous she was. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

I met Nicolee earlier this year through my sister, Tiffany, when I entered my own battle with cancer. Despite not knowing Nicolee very well at the time, she prepared the most wonderful and thoughtful chemo care package for me. Having undergone the same protocol herself, she carefully prepared individual packages with detailed notes and products and tips to combat the variety of side effects one faces going through chemo. I was so grateful for this; and instantly felt like I had another friend in my corner. I remember thinking, 'here she is taking time from her own battle to help me through mine' - and that is a testament to the type of person Nicolee was. She was supportive, generous and courageous. She welcomed me to reach out to her at any time with questions and was always very supportive (and detailed!).
When COVID protocols lifted, and I was finished my active treatment, I had the pleasure of spending time with Nicolee at her home. It's a visit I'll never forget. Her outlook on life is one that had me (and still does have me), in awe. Something she said to me that I'll never forget is; "you have to be very careful that in the process of trying to stay alive, you don't forget to live." And live she did.

Noelle and Jake,
You are in our thoughts and prayers. We are sending peaceful thoughts in your direction (and your family's too). We know how strong you both are, just as we know how strong your Mom was. She will be missed, but more importantly, she will be remembered--through moments, through memories, through things that happen now and also things that happen in the future. And definitely through that amazing slideshow you two put together. I am very proud of both of you. More than I can express at this time. What I feel though pales in comparison to how proud I know your Mom was and always will be of you both. Her love for you and those she held close was incomparable to what most folks experience during their lives. That doesn't mean that not having her around now will be easy, so remember to reach out if and when it feels like reaching out might help.
Oh, and because it has to be said, your Aunt Kelly did a beyond amazing job speaking at the Celebration of Life for your Mom today. Kelly, if you are reading this - thank you. Thank you for helping all of us connect a little more with Nicolee. I am certain that was not an easy task, but you were graceful, eloquent, and so brave.

Dear Hathaway Family,
I simply cannot forget Nicki and all the Hathaways as part of some of my best childhood memories. Our times hanging out swimming in Melbourne, splashing around in Lake Huron at Jean the Bean’s cottage, or watching dance recitals were always so, so much fun! Nicolee always had such a bright smile, sparkling eyes, positive outlook and strength of character- no matter the situation. "Make Lemonade out of lemons" as she once said to me over some bad news she had been given. Generosity and loyalty were second nature to her, and made our friendship with her, though far to brief, a gift.
Fearless is a perfect descriptor of Nicolee. Fearless and bright. Our heartfelt sympathies and deepest condolences to her family - we are so sorry for your loss.
