Obituary of Darlene Creatha Whitecalf

Peacefully, with her loving family by her side after a courageous battle, on Friday, July 16th, 2021, Darlene Whitecalf (nee:Fisher) “Giigidoon Waase Kwe” (Talking Bright Woman) of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, in her 72nd year. 

Cherished daughter of Creatha and the late Delbert Fisher Sr.  Beloved mother of Carol-Jo Whitecalf (Courage), Jessica Nicholas Whitecalf, Terry Gladue and the late Pamela Whitecalf (2018).  Proud grandma of Coen, Cruz, Cadri, the late Jaguar, Shayman, Haven, Zania, Paris, Sonny, Sierrah and great grandma of Jaden, Maala, and Maasai.  Loving sister of Brenda (Danny), Wanda (John), Debbie (Nick), Mel, the late Donna, and the late Delbert Jr. “Sonny”.  Survived by her sister-in-law Barb, brother-in-law Paul, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  She will be sadly missed by her close friends Marcia and Lorna.  Darlene served her community for many years as a council member and on various boards and will forever be remembered for her love of family and friends. 

Due to Covid there will be no formal visitation or funeral service.  A celebration of Darlene’s life and inurnment will be held on Wednesday, July 21st, 2021, at 11am at Colborne Cemetery, Chippewa.
