With sincere sympathy to your family. Nancy Margaret was a childhood friend of my mother and often visited when I was a child. I know that marrying her beloved Gordon gave her a whole new life and adventure. We have many happy memories and are thankful for a life well lived.
Most sincerely.

Nancy Margaret ( Aunt Nan) was a lifelong friend of my mother. They grew up together in Winona. As a child I was delighted when Aunt Nan would come to visit. We would share a room. Aunt Nancy visited at least twice a year, in the winter , for many Christmases and in the summer to attend the Shaw Festival with my mother. My siblings and I have many memories of Aunt Nan reading to us and telling us stories. I can see her clapping her hands with joy, her eyes twinkling. She was fun and a good sport.
She loved history and even went so far as to get her principal’s permission to attend a funeral… Winston Churchill’s! ( whom she greatly admired)
In later years we were so warmly welcomed by Aunt Nan and Gordon in their lovely home and fed from Gordon’s bountiful garden. Married life filled her with love and great joy.
I will cherish my happy memories of Aunt Nan.

I started my 1st school year at Beck in 1967 and had Miss Lewis as my English teacher. It was my favourite class. She was more than a teacher, she was a mentor, a coach, an inspiration and as close to a parent as you can get without being related. She was a breath of fresh air with a warm heart and she loved to have fun. Imagine that, fun at high school. You will always be in my heart and mind Miss Lewis, thank you so much for your enthusiasm and caring.

Deepest Condolences at this time. My thoughts go out to the stepchildren, especially Ruth. Every time I drive past the farm on Ilderton Road, I remember all my times spent with Ruth at public school and then with Ruth and Chris Smith at high school. I'm still living in the same house as school days. Take care and stay safe.

In the 1970’s I had the good fortune of joining the staff of Sir Adan Beck Secondary School as a very young beginning teacher.
This school had a blend of newly appointed teachers and solid, experienced veterans. To this day I remember my first meeting with Nancy Margaret Lewis. Her welcoming smile, encouraging manner, positive approach, and passion for her subject and all of her students quickly established us as colleagues and trusted friends.
Nan was a truly beautiful person and lived a long, rich life.
I will always remember this superb teacher and friend.
Sincerely,
Alan Quigley

DNA doesn’t make a grandma, the person/ heart does. Any time I think of Nan I immediately think back to times at the Ilderton house. Especially this music box she had given to her by old students, just a cute kitty playing with yarn in a basket. We listened to that music box for hours there and at the home in Port Dover. “ My Favourite Things” will always be our song to me.
Remembering you fondly Nan, I looked/ look up to the kind nature you treated everything with and greeted everyone with. Forever missed
<3 Phyllis

It was my privilege to teach with Nan during our years at Beck. She was a compassionate and caring person who contributed greatly to the lives of the young people she taught.

Miss Lewis was my English teacher at Sir Adam Beck Secondary School 1957/1958, 1958/1959. I remember we were studying the book Great Expectations & she became very animated & started jumping around while reading a passage. I found this quite humorous, but she was a wonderful teacher & made English fun.
I was pleased that she found a nice man to be her husband in her senior years. My sister-in-law Bonnie Spencer/Beer would keep me updated on Miss Lewis.
Sincere sympathy to all her family. Norma (Brock) Beer

Miss Lewis helped me through a very tough time and didn't judge me. She helped me continue to achieve my goals when things could have gone in a very different and bad direction. She was an awesome teacher and person. My prayers are with you at this time.

Miss Lewis inspired my love of English both Literature and composition. Her classes were fun, entertaining and very interactive. She brought a personal interpretation to the study of Shakespeare that made you want to read more. Her very high standards contributed to my own writing and teaching career. I am sure she will take no nonsense from her heavenly friends. So lovely that she found happiness in later life. RIP Nancy Margaret- I will never forget you.....from a former Beck student....Irene McDonald

Mrs. Linton will always be Miss. Lewis to me and the students at Beck who were so fortunate to have her as an English teacher or just knew her from attending Beck. From her 'antics' when teaching about a book to sitting in her rocking chair, students' interests were kept alive and she made English a fun subject. She cared about her students and they respected her for that and all the things she did to improve their learning abilities. So many now still have fond memories and I am sure you will see this in many of the tributes. To Marilyn and Keith, I thank you for keeping in touch with me for so long and sharing how Miss. Lewis was doing so that I could pass that on through emails to the Beck family. To all her family, I send my heart felt condolences as she played a good role in my life after I graduated in 1960 - some times through a telephone call and sometimes with visits and for many years by Christmas cards. She will remain in my mind and heart forever. Bonnie Spencer-Beer UE
