Obituary of Dave Thody
Alton David (“Dave”) Thody
It is with very deep sadness that the family of Dave Thody announces his passing on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at his home in Komoka in his 73rd year.
Dave was the son of the late Alton (2004) and Dorothy (2014) Thody and the brother of six surviving sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife and friend of 52 years, Marie (York), and his cherished children, Don (Karen) Thody and Denise (Daren) Raoux. Dave was a devoted grandfather to Emma, Kate and Andrew Raoux and Cameron and Matthew Thody, who will miss him dearly.
Dave was a Class A Mechanic by trade but devoted his life to farming beef cattle and cash crops. There was never any doubt that this was truly a labour of love for him!
He enjoyed auction sales, going to euchre with his friend, Joe, and enjoying cruises and other trips over the years with Marie.
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service was recently held.
Special thanks to the Stroke Team at University Hospital and especially the doctors, residents, nurses, PSWs, OTs, VON, Donna Chapman and others who cared for Dave during these last few weeks.
