I want to extend my sincere condolences to Mike’s sisters and to Ellen. Mike was a truly amazing guy. I’ve known Mike since we started kindergarten together at Kensal Park and then right through to attending at Westminster. In the early years we all hung out together. Teenie Boppers I guess. Mike, Jack and Jamie had a band and played in my basement. We hung out around the neighbourhood a lot. We all danced to Led Zeppelin at Woodland Heights dances. Mike was always smart, funny, sensitive and so much fun to be around. I still enjoyed having a Facebook connection with him. All of us are so fortunate to have known this amazing man. It breaks my heart. To see you go.

What a brave soul. I fist met Mike in Grade 8 or 9. I enjoyed reading his post - always witty.

What a wonderful person, we shared a few laughs and cigarettes at the back of the legion. Often on trivia nights which added so much life to Saturday nights. I will miss him and his brilliant way of making the regular day a bit brighter, joking and laughing like it was suppose to be that way.
Gonna miss ya Mike,
John Pol

Our deepest condolesences to Mike's family and friends. His trivia night, great taste in music, warm stories and sense of humour made the Legion feel like old friends sitting around the kitchen table sharing their lives. Mike hosting those nights helped bring much joy and laughter to my circle of friends and Barrett's Privateers will miss you.

Ellen, Jackie, Janice, I am so very sorry for the loss of your partner, and brother. He was hands down a very special man, anyone who met my cousin, will never forget him, his wit and humour drew you in, and never disappointed. His music was everything to him, he described his voice as sounding a little like Steve Earle. I use to go into his little bait store and get what I needed to fish. Loved going in there.
He loved my father's voice, Dad loved music, fishing and the occasional golf game, I am hoping that you two connect on the other side, singing, fishing, and the occasional golf game. You two had a lot in common.
You will be missed Michael, I was very fortunate to have you for a cousin.

Condolences to Ellen and Michael's family. Trivia night and any celebrations or musical entertainment at the legion just won't be the same. I am sure he will continue to inspire whoever tries to fill those shoes. Thoughts and prayers

Awwwww Mike - I can't believe I won't see your smiling face standing at the end of our kitchen island laughing with Len again. You were a special soul.
