I am so sorry to hear of Ron’s passing.
He was active in some many things in Komoka when I grew up there. My sister Dale and I went to school (Parkview and Strathroy) with most of the kids over the years.
I send my condolences to the family. I am sadden by your loss.
Ron’s service to his community (scouts, cubs, etc, Railway Museum, Parkview, etc) was outstanding and will be sorely missed in Komoka.

Our genealogy branch was at the Middlesex Centre Archives Heritage Fair this February (and other years) and we were located across the aisle from the Komoka Railway Museum table. All day long we heard people inquiring about Ron, how he was doing and would he be attending this year. To everyone's delight, he did show up briefly in the afternoon and was promptly surrounded. He and his wife, June, were always smiling and so happy to answer people's questions. I have since learned of Ron's involvement in school programs and I am not surprised that he would be a hit with young children, as when it comes to trains, we are all still children in our hearts. On behalf of the London & Middlesex branch of Ontario Ancestors (The Ontario Genealogical Society), we offer our most sincere condolences to June and the Davis family. June and Ron were long-time members of the branch.

I remember Ron as a janitor at Parkview Public school for years when I attended with my brother. Ron had given me the job of raising the Canadian flag everyday at school. At my grade 8 graduation, Ron gave me a pillow with the Canadian flag on it to remember. He was always smiling and laughing in the halls at school. Very sorry to hear about the loss of Ron and will always be remembered by myself and brother Stuart McLachlan.

I remember Ron during my tenure at Parkview School on 3 different occasions in the late '60's and early '80's with respect and admiration. He always had a friendly greeting to staff and students during a busy school day and always seemed to have a smile even though the extra tasks he was asked to do, or took on voluntarily, appeared overwhelming. The staff often enjoyed Ron's occasional "boiler inspections" even though the boiler always seemed to be working just fine! Ron will be missed but fondly remembered!

I worked with Ron at Parkview P.S. for 8 years in the 1980's and continued to cross paths with him from time to time over the years. He was such a down to earth man, who was devoted to his family, his community and his trains! He will be missed by many. My sincere sympathy to June and all the rest of the family.

I have wonderfully memories of the 1st Komoka Cub Pack and indeed the whole scouting program. Komoka had scouting because dads step up to offer leadership. It was my good fortune to start Cub Scouts under the quiet leadership of Akela - Ron Davis. A huge thank you to Ron Davis for all that you invested in the boys of Komoka.
When we were together as a pack Akela taught us to sing Taps.
To Akela
Day is done, Gone the sun,
From the hills, From the lake, From the skies.
All is well, Safely rest,
God is nigh

Connie & I were residents of Komoka for 25 years. During that time, we got to know Ron and June through the Library, through Scouts and through other volunteer activities in the community. Ron and I served on the Scout Group Committee together for several years as well as working together when the Komoka Scouts canned maple syrup every year as a fundraiser.
He will be missed by his family and friends. Komoka will miss his dedication to the community.
