Obituary of Robert "Bobby" James McMullen
McMullen, Robert James - Peacefully and surrounded by love on Thursday, March 12th, 2020, in his 32nd year, Robert (Bobby) James McMullen was reunited with his Mom in Heaven. Predeceased by his mother Mary (2017), Bobby is survived by his father James, his sisters Kelly (Mark), Jacqui (Jamie) and Amanda (John), all who loved him so very much. He was an amazing uncle to Evan, Abby, Eleanor and Evie. Being from a large extended family, Bobby, was loved by his many aunts, uncles and cousins but will be greatly missed by his cousin Terry with whom he shared a very special bond. He was a loyal and loving friend to many. Like many his age, Bobby struggled to find his path in life and had great difficulty dealing with the loss of his mother whom he loved beyond measure. He travelled down many paths trying to find his purpose which took him on many great adventures. Bobby was a kind soul who was always willing to help others and was always checking in to make sure everyone was “okay”. He was the first to lend a hand, offer an ear, and gave the best hugs. He was compassionate, kind and very resourceful. He would have given you the shirt off his back if he thought it was what you needed. He loved working out, watching basketball and spending time with his family and friends. He was a sensitive soul who was always trying to help those in need. The void he leaves behind is one that can never be filled. He will remain forever in our hearts. A special Thank-You to the family and friends who were there to support him during his final days and to all the staff at LHSC - University Hospital who showed immense kindness to Bobby and his family during this difficult time.
An interment service will take place at Sacred Heart in The Fields on Friday August 14, 2020 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in memory of Bobby are asked to consider making a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or in lieu of a donation are encouraged to practice a random act of kindness in his memory.
