David has been a treasure to many of us in the Smart Patient support group. He encouraged us to remain positive and give it all we got to live as long as we can. I will definitely miss him. I hope that the family is at least comforted by that he stayed with us as long as he could and he is no longer in pain

Gary also has kidney cancer and we knew Dave through many phone calls and many posts on the Smart Patients forum.
Dave's caring for others was incredibly constant and his love for his family enabled him to go through one tough treatment after another. His pride in his children and love for his wife were constant themes. Even in illness he never lost his zest for life with stories of cars, shooting, fishing and home running throughout his posts.
So many people who never met him will miss him terribly. It was a privilege to know Dave. A call or post from him always brightened our day.
We are both so sorry for your family's loss.

Dear Linda, Jordan and Hayden. We are so sorry to hear about Dave passing. He sure fought hard against that damn cancer. We are thinking of you all at this sad time. My fondest memory is going back to your house after hockey and us listening to music and the kids all playing together. Dave burned me a CD. The good old days. Our family understands what it feels like to love someone so much and to lose them at a young age. Cherish all your memories.
