Obituary of Edna Deleemans

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Edna Clara DeLeemans (nee Valcke) in her 91st year.  Peacefully, with family by her side, Edna passed away at Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy, Ontario on Thursday, March 29, 2018.  Beloved wife of Willie DeLeemans for 69 years.  Loving mother to Diane Brunet and Don (Angela) DeLeemans of Mount Brydges.  Mother-in-law of Cyril (Pat) Soetemans.  Predeceased by daughter Lorraine Soetemans (2007), son-in-law Robert Brunet (2017), and sisters Bertha Vansevenant, Cecile VanLondersele, and Suzette Cairns.  Cherished grandmother of Rob (Sinead) Brunet, Lori (Sean) Baker, Heather Brunet, Chris Soetemans, and Dayna and Colin DeLeemans. 

Proud great-grandmother of Julia, William and James, Carmen and Natalie, and Ainsley and Allison.  Edna will be sadly missed by brothers-in-law Ramsay (Lillian) Cairns and Paul VanLondersele, along with several nieces and nephews.  

Willie and Edna lived on the farm in Mount Brydges for many years before enjoying their time together at Seasons in Strathroy, and later at Strathmere Lodge.  Visitation will take place at Elliot-Madill funeral home in Mount Brydges from 5-8pm on Monday, April 2.  A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 3 at 10:00 am at All Saints Catholic Church, Strathroy. Interment at Sacred Heart in the Fields, Mount Brydges.  Donations as expressions of sympathy to Strathmere Lodge Ladies Auxiliary would be greatly appreciated.  Many thanks to the staff at Strathmere Lodge for their compassionate care.
