On behalf of my family I wanted to be sure to acknowledge and say chi Miigwech to all those who sent condolences. His friends and fellow community members (cmo and turtle island) were just as important to him, and we appreciate you all for touching his life in any way. I know it’s a sad time still even as weeks pass, I hope you can , or we can all find comfort in knowing that George , your friend, our dad, would not pause for too long, not be idle or sad too long, he would find a way to smile, laugh and carry on the good work.
He loved life and didn’t waste a day. :)

Years ago I had a couple of good conversations with Mr. Henry at some powwows. When he found out I was a teacher he told me about how very proud he was, of what his daughter Leslee was doing in education. Later, I worked on a curriculum project with her at the MOE and saw why. He gave me life advice across the tshirts he was selling and I liked his energy and thoughtfulness.
My thoughts are with you and I will do prayers for his spirit and you all.

Please accept my condolences. I had the honor of working with George many years ago at King's College during the International Workgroup on Death, Grief, and Bereavement Conference. We shared many stories. He was a wonderful person who was full of life and appreciated everyday He was what I was taught that an elder should be: a teacher and source of wisdom for the rest of us. I will miss him!

To the Family of George Henry,
My sincerest condolences to the George Henry family. His presence will be missed by all who grew fond of seeing him throughout the years at fastball tournaments, pow wows, political rallies, and conferences. I greatly admired George Henry for his grace, his traditional knowledge, his outspokeness / Indigenous advocacy and his integrity. I am truly saddened by this loss.
My deepest sympathies,

It is with great sadness that I hear of the loss of George Henry to his family, his community and water protectors. George's care for others was evident. His promotion of young people as water guardians and future leaders ensures his legacy.
On behalf of myself and of the OPAL Alliance, condolences to the family.

Condolences to the whole family. I have known George for many years and know of his dedication to his community, his Anishininabek people and to our culture and way of life. It was a privilege to talk with him as he was knowledgeable on many levels. He was a long time friend of my late father. He has traveled the path of souls to his eternal home. I feel blessed to have known such a great man. Blessings to all.

Sending prayers and only the very warmest thoughts to George's family and community during this very special time for remembering and celebrating a life well lived. A very special elder told us that when a person leaves us to continue their journey in the spirit world, we need to honour that person's journey. She simply concluded, "Their work on this earth was complete and now they continue their work in the spirit world". This message helped me greatly as I struggled to understand why special people leave us. George helped me understand and appreciate all the important work he and his community were doing to protect the land and water. I know his work will continue because of his teachings and efforts. He will continue to be with everyone through his strong spirit and teachings. Sending love and good thoughts from afar.
