Obituary of Jody Randall Waddilove

Waddilove, Jody Randall (Shko-deh-nini) March 30, 1952 – March 12, 2017. Peacefully went home to the Creator surrounded by his family at the London Health Sciences Centre – Victoria Campus on March 12, 2017 at the age of 64 years old. Jody was a proud member of the Munsee-Delaware Nation and the turtle clan. He was the beloved husband of Sherry (nee Deleary) for 47 years. Loving father of Luke (Breanne), Jodie-Lynn (Josh), Terrence (Dolores) and Tyler and Grandfather Mishshomis to Kaiden, Natasyia, Bode, Lukas and Braxton. Predeceased by parents Donald Clarence Waddilove and Beatrice Lumley (nee Grosbeck). Predeceased and raised by Matilda (Tilley) Susan Waddilove (nee Hendrick) and Franklin Clarence Waddilove. Predeceased by brother Terrence Waddilove and survived by brothers Kevin (Norma) Waddilove, Daryl (Theresa) Lumley, Harley (Valerie) Nicholas and Shawn Elm. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jody was an Elder and Leader in his community for many years. He is a former, long-serving member of the Munsee-Delaware Nation Chief and Council. Jody worked as a Social Services Administrator for 30 years. He served as President of the Ontario Native Welfare Administrators Association and was an active member of the Association for many years. He was also former coach and supporter of C.M.O. Hockey. Jody will be sadly missed but always remembered by many. Visitors will be received at the Elliott-Madill Funeral Home, 22424 Adelaide Rd., Mount Brydges on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 7 – 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Munsee-Delaware Community Centre, 533 Thomigo Rd., Munsee-Delaware Nation on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow. A luncheon will be held after the service.
