Maria Celeste de Oliveira Chick-Schleihauf posted a condolence
Thursday, January 5, 2017
My deepest condolence to the family of Jean Schleihauf. As a wife of Randy Kurt Schleihauf, I had the pleasure to see and talk with Jean at the family picnics. Two things that come to mind when I think of her: One is the fact that she had so many children. I would say one for each month of the year since she had 12, although one, sadly, died quite young. It takes a strong woman and a lot of dedication to raise such a big family!; Also I remember Jean's beautiful blue eyes that, even at her old age, showed a zest for life. She will be missed by many!
I would like to dedicate in Jean's memory a prayer I wrote as Maria Celeste de Oliveira Chick in which I say death is the ultimate life.
"An Easter prayer".
I thank you Lord for not all my prayers are answered as I would want them;
Removed of my pride I feel Your greatness.
It's through my struggles that I better understand human suffering, myself and You Lord.
It's only when I carry my own cross that I have a better understanding of the Passion of Christ.
Through my faith in You:
When I am lonely, I feel Your near; When I am afraid, You take my fear;
When I am sad, You bring me joy; When my life is empty, You give me purpose;
When I am weak, You give strength; When I have no answers, I find them in Your Scriptures;
When I feel restless, You bring me peace; When I am lost,You show me the way.
You are my friend and all that I need! Because I have You, right here, by my side,
Through sickness and sorrows, You are my comfort.
When I am in despair I know that You care!
And so, in my sufferings, I am redeemed.
I thank You Lord for all that I have.
Blessed be death when it finally comes!
As Jesus led the way, I must die so I can live...
And life is resurrection!
