Mom you had a wonderful journey in life and enjoyed travelling to many parts of the world, had many great times with your family and the many great friends in Canada and the Netherlands. You loved playing card games and dancing the night away either at special functions or at the Benelux club. Your greatest gifts were that you always seen the best in everyone, your unconditional love, humility, kindness, and understanding always shined brightly in this world and I’m sure it didn’t go unnoticed.
You were a great Mom and we will never forget this.
A special thank you to my sister Pauline that thanks to her that Mom was well taken care of and prevented us from having to place Mom in a Nursing Home early on.
Mom it’s time to put your feet up and rest, I hope our paths cross again, we already miss you very much!

Lieve tante Riek
Het was zo fijn dat we je nog hebben gezien in mei en samen hebben mogen genieten van jouw vrolijke lach en opgewekte humeur.De hemel heeft er een engel bij en wij gaan je missen. Dankjewel voor de geweldige gastvrijheid en lieve tante die je altid voor ons bent geweest.

I have many great memories of spending time with Riek and Toon when they visited relatives in Uxbridge. The Dutch community that they were part of certainly knew how to party and create fun times. Rest in peace Riek.

My thoughts go back to her visits to Holland. My father Frans her younger brother was very fond of her. My sister Silvia and I visited her in October 2023. We sang songs together there. I will never forget this. Rest in peace dear Aunt Riek. Love from Sonja.
