My deepest condolences to John’s family and loved ones.
I was heartbroken to hear the news. He was a very dear friend of mine and I wish we would have had more time.
John was an amazing person who touched my life and I know he did the same for many others. I’ll always be grateful for everything he did for me. I’ll remember fondly all of our deep conversations and laughs together :)

I too was shocked to hear of John's passing...he worked out and ate healthily and had such a zest for life without a worry in the world! He visited Guelph 2 or 3 times a week for the last couple of years to mainly visit a young lady friend of his by the name of Dani who is also a friend of mine. He gave her great advice for helping her straighten out her life by getting her to list her current 'pros and cons' in her life and how to eliminate the cons like he did in his lifetime. He would be glowing with happiness after every time he met with her!!
I became a good friend of his and had many long conversations about his adventures on and off his tree farm. He changed jobs many times because he was often open to a new adventure or those he worked for didn't really appreciate his talents. He shared some of his amazing musical recordings with his Guelph friends and if he refurbished a guitar, he would readily give it to someone he thought would appreciate it. He told me about a homeless man in London who camped out under a river bridge and offered him some financial help by buying a lure the man found...he never judged someone for their disadvantages in life; he only wanted to help when someone needed it. His main favourite pastime other than music was his love of fishing. He would give Guelph friends a fishing lure he made or a fishing pole or even an arrowhead he found on his farm...I would bring in arrowheads I had found locally and he knew all about them, just like he knew about any subject we would talk about. I was so looking forward to his promised fishing excursion next summer with me! Loved the story about his motorcycle in his younger days which would be pulled over by cops because he had long hair and the bike was similar to one used by gang members...he would challenge the intent of the cops who profiled him for riding that particular bike with his looks at the time. He would back down to no one but at the same time he had a heart of gold. Rest in peace my friend...I miss you so much!!
Sincerely,
Brian

My sincere condolences to everyone who knew and loved John. I am shocked and disheartened to find out about his passing. John and I had plans to meet up the day he passed. He left a voicemail on my phone saying we would have to reschedule as he was feeling under the weather. I never would have thought this would be the last time I would hear from him. John would typically travel down to Guelph to see me least twice a week. Our time together often consisted of many laughs and stories about John’s life. I will also cherish the fishing lure and arrow head he gifted me which expressed his love of the outdoors. But even more valuable were the many life lessons he taught me, and the guidance he provided me as I navigate life’s challenges. Although it was cut short, I will be forever grateful for the time we shared. My heart hurts when I think about our discussions of the future. Your excitement about life and its adventures inspires me. Thank you John for everything you have done for me. You are greatly missed.
If any family members or friends of John would be willing to contact me regarding the details of his passing, or if I can offer any form of assistance or support, my contact number is (226) 755-3381

My condolences to Louise, Wes, Vincent and their families. Great memories from working one summer with John at the orchards. We shared similar interests in cars and music and I still think of him when I play the song that he taught me on the guitar, all those years ago.. We lost touch over the years, but I had a nice visit with him last year, and it was nice to share some laughs and memories from that summer.
