Obituary of Murray Eugene Riordon

Murray Eugene Riordon, 96 years of age, lived an abundant life, loved to laugh, was quick to tears and cared deeply for others; family, friends and strangers alike.

“Mur” as he was affectionately called, was born in Houlton Maine on January 25, 1928 and grew up in Woodstock, New Brunswick Canada where he met his soul mate of 63 years, Connie Riordon, until her passing in 2016. After their marriage, they moved to Goderich Ontario, where he made a life career working for CP Railway retiring in London, Ontario.

Murray was a collector of stamps, coins, model trains and anything “owl” to name the top few. He owned and operated Royalwood Stamps and Coins in downtown London with his partner Norm Perry for a number of years while working full time at CP. He was a passionate outdoorsman who loved to hike, fish, hunt and camp. An adventurer, a music lover, a truly free spirit.

He was a faithful man. His life was shaped by a sincere and authentic faith in Jesus Christ and he modelled that as a man who embodied kindness, concern and love towards others.

On July 27, 2024 after a chapter of declining health he left this world and his loved ones here for the hope and promise he lived for.

In recent lucid moments he was heard to say, "I've got my bags packed and I'm ready to go."

1 Corinthians 15: vs. 13 - 22
