Obituary of Joe Gubbels
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Joe Gubbels, of Delaware, Ontario on April 29, 2024, at the age of 65 years.
Our beloved Husband, Father, Opa, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. Joe passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Betty; children: Joshua (Chantal), Ardina (Eric), Lexi, and Natasha (partner, Benjamin); grandchildren: Ethan, James, and Evelina; brothers: Hugh, Cleo (Maria), Carl (Joanne) and sisters: Rosemary (Philip), Joann (Harry), Maryann (Vince), Leoni (Claude) and Dinah (Neil); sisters-in-law Maria (Dominic), and Jenny (Jeff); Stepmother-in-law Martha Gubbels and her Van Deven family; with numerous relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Cleo and Ardina Gubbels, his brother-in-law Dominic, and his nephews Nelson, Cody, and Matthew.
Joe will be remembered as an avid dessert lover, Sunday crop tour guide, passionate farmer, and a devoted loyal family man.
Friends may call at the Elliott-Madill Funeral Home, (519)-264-1100 from 2-4pm and 6-9pm on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024. (22424 Adelaide Road, Mt Brydges, ON.)
A Funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Parish commencing at 11 am on May 2, 2024. (124 Front St. East, Strathroy, ON.) Father Thom Blondin, Pastor will be presiding.
A private family interment at the cemetery will be held at the family’s request.
In Lieu of flowers Donations to the Sacred Heart Cemetery (124 Front St East Strathroy, N7G 1Y9), would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. It would also be meaningful to either complete an act of kindness or forgiveness to honour Joe’s memory and legacy.
