Obituary of Foster Ralph Sturgeon

Unexpectedly at Sensenbrenner Hospital, Kapuskasing on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023 Foster Sturgeon, of Chapleau Cree First Nation, in his 54th year. Beloved husband of Catherine Sturgeon (nee Schefke). Loving father and stepfather to Cecil (Harmony) Sturgeon, Tyrone Skylar; Eve (late Barry Sturgeon) Metts, Dolla Metts, Karen (Jesse) Riley. Survived by several grand and great-grandchildren. Son of Dona (late Elston) Sturgeon. Brother to Levi (Tammy) Sturgeon, Hector Sturgeon, Winnifred Sturgeon, Polli (Steve) Sturgeon. 

Popeye will be greatly missed by Thomas Sturgeon, Roseline (Rishi) Bakshi, Geraldine Sturgeon and many more nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family; Fondly remembered by his dear friends; Mama Michaud, Maxime (Tori) Belanger + Children, and, the Rubber Boot Gang. 

You could often find Popeye fishing for Sturgeon, hunting for moose and bear or picking blueberries in the bush. He enjoyed spending his time with his family, working on junk, and finding treasures at the dump. Popeye was known so helping everyone he could, even if he didn't know you, he would. 

Family will receive friends at the Elliott-Madill Funeral Home, Mount Brydges 519-264-1100 on Wednesday, December 20th, 2023 from 10 am - 12 noon where the Celebration of Foster’s life will be held commencing at 12 noon. Cremation to follow.  www.elliottmadill.com
