Obituary of Leona Katherine Grosbeck

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness the family of Leona Grosbeck (Katsitsyakwas) (nee: Nicholas) announces her passing at Toronto General Hospital on Saturday, October 28th, 2023.   Leona was wolf clan from Oneida Nation of the Thames. 

She enjoyed spending time with her family and at the hockey rink.  She was known for being the number one supporter of her children and grandchildren.  Leona also enjoyed travelling and was able to go to her life-long dream locations of Italy, Hawaii, and Alaska.  She was a dedicated, longtime employee of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation. 

Loving wife of Rawleigh Grosbeck for 34 years, and life partner for 47 years.  Loving mother of Rawleigh (Angie), Lesliee II, and Danielle (Shayne).  Will be missed dearly by Jacy and Kristin.  Proud grandma of Cain, Alyssa, Bianca (Daniel), Ava (Memphis), Leslie III, Skylar, Rawleigh III, Jay-J, Kayleigh, Onyx, Katana, Calicoe, Maxon, Robbie, Daniel, Adonis, Oakley, and great-grandchildren Lahawe and Tobias.  Predeceased by her parents Peter and Beulah Nicolas and her siblings Donna, Louie, Veronica, James, Monty, Vaughn, and Sherman.  Survived by her aunt Sylvia Swamp, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Family will receive friends at the Elliott-Madill Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 31st, 2023 from 3 - 5 pm. Famly and friends are welcome at the Grosbeck home, 385 Jubilee Road, Muncey, Ontario on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023 after 12 noon, where the Celebration of Leona’s life will be held on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023 commencing at 11 am.  www.elliottmadill.com
