To Lisette's family:
I was saddened to hear that your mom/grandmother/great-grandmother passed away, not very long after her beloved Gilbert! She was kind, gentle, caring, faith-filled and had reached out to my mother Cordula deKoning and I, after my dad died, when i was just 14. We also had come from Holland and had been in Canada, only a few years. Both she and your dad, had an open door policy for us and we were most grateful, and often watched wrestling on tv with them! They were busy with raising a family then, but always made time for us. They were a great couple together...did not look for accolades. They worked hard and raised a beautiful family. I had the pleasure of a long telephone conversation with your mom after your dad passed. She was calm, stoic and happy for her Gilbert that he was then out of his suffering. She had reverted back to speaking to me in Dutch, but i can still easily converse in that language myself, so it was sweet just hearing her voice. We reminisced about those good times. A life well lived! Now she is in her final resting place with your dad in their eternal home. Although they were a quiet couple, they never went unnoticed! May the good Lord comfort you, through this sad time. You are in my thoughts and prayers. ~Odra (deKoning) Riedl

I am sorry to hear about the loss of Lisette. I previously worked at Bossons Pharmacy and it was a pleasure to get to know both of them. They were two of the kindest, sweetest people we had the pleasure of serving. May they both rest in peace together.

Dearest cousins our deepest condolences. Our Schyvenaars and D'Hollander families are so connected and Tante Lisette was our second mom. Cindy still cherishes frequent visits for tea and cookies that started while we were still dating in high school over 50 years ago. I got the reputation for lots of questions and discussion. Tante Lisette never failed to remind me of these interactions even while she was in the hospital.
Tante Lisette's passing is a sad day for us but a happy day for Uncle Gilbert, her kindred soul, and also for our mom and dad who can all use her skill in betting, and discussion.

Dear family, what a shock to hear that your mom, grandmom and great grandmother passed. It was so nice to talk with her. First she always gave the phone asap to your dad. Later, when his hearing wasn't as good as we wanted, she spoke and explained it to him. Our mother is in a home in a similar position. We have warm thoughts about tante Lisette.
