It was always a pleasure to be around and travel the roads with Lorne. He was a dear friend of my father and mother, Hugh and Laurene Brodie. He always had a joke to tell or recall a memory from his early years. It was a privilege to have know him and I know he is now laughing with many of his friends who have gone before him. Rest in peace, Lorne. Our condolences to Dave and the Whiting family.

Our sincere sympathy to the Whiting family. Lorne was a life long neighbour and friend. He was great to work with on the farm, harvesting, feeding and bedding cattle. We enjoyed his sense of humor. He made the best coon traps ever. Lorne and Helen were great neighbours.

Lorne Whiting was one of the most enjoyable people to spend a day with that I have ever known. A 'crop tour' of South Caradoc was in the masters hands when Lorne was your copilot. A quick joke, a tantilizing piece of local history and happy local stories came with every visit. My Dad was Lorne's closest friend as were scads of other people he collected over his 93 years. RIP Lorne, there will be a lot of happy faces in Heaven when you arrive. John Stuart ~ Nova Scotia~

If there is life after death, I imagine Lorne was greeted by a lineup of pickup trucks, stretching off into the sunset, filled with familiar faces waiting for him to pull up and visit. He was a kind and caring man. A really great neighbour of ours on Burwell Road and lifelong friend to our dad George. He will be missed. We are very sorry for your loss. Melanie Irwin (nee Nyman) and family.
