I know you will never regret all the time spent with your mother over the past few months of her illness. I know that she was comforted knowing you were there. Thank you also for keeping the congregation up to date on all the changes. She was always a willing helper, worker and encourager - we and the congregations of London, Woodstock, Stratford and Owen Sound will miss her smiling face.
Be at Peace

We are sorry to hear about Sylvia. Ted and I met her through Lambeth Lions - she was always smiling and had a story to tell. You could sense her strong love for family and had lots of crafting ideas! I always enjoyed our talks together and she always made me feel welcome at a meeting.

I have lost my favorite cousin as we became known to each other. Our emails would always start out that way. I will miss our many trips to Listowel as one can never have enough wool. I'm sure she is crocheting up a storm in heaven. we shared a porch visit in April at my house and it was none too warm. Any time spent together was enjoyed by each of us. You are no longer suffering, rest in peace my friend.

I will always remember Sylvia's sense of humour. She introduced me to the Michigan Christian Youth Camp, where she was well-liked by everyone. The one thing we shared together other than our beliefs, our love of the Michigan camp, was twisting balloons.

I'll always be grateful for the 2 weeks we had together when she visited me New Zealand back in 2007. Her first plane ride! She got to partake in the traditional Maori Hangi (a feast cooked underground) and saw a visceral Haka (a Maori Challenge) up close. She made the trip on her own and thoroughly enjoyed herself.
The other memory I'll cherish that is more recent is when she had her surgery to remove cancer about 5 years ago. She allowed me to take care of her and be there for her (in Canada) till she was back on her feet. She showed me how tough and brave a human being could be.
She has never failed to surprise me with her strength, stubborness as well has her laughs in the midst of some of the darkest days. I'll miss you greatly Ma. You'll be forever in my heart and I'll think of you everyday.
As well as paying tribute to my Mom I want to take this time to acknowledge the lengths that my sister Karen has gone to in order to take care of Ma. Karen at every turn has included me all the way over in New Zealand with some hard decisions of Ma's care. Seeing my Sister look after our Mother with such unselfish grace, kindness, inclusiveness and most of all Love has made me so proud to call her my sister. Thank you Karen for all you have done for our family.
With much love,
Sylvia's eldest daughter,
Bonnie Kelly (NZ)
