Obituary of Reinhold Walter Weller
WALTER WELLER
His heart has stopped and now ours are heavy.
From modest beginnings in Wieseck, Germany during the depression and war, Walter emigrated to Canada in the 1950’s, making his home and eventually starting a family in London where he worked as an electrician for Comstock on the construction of 3M, Westinghouse, Kellogg, and Fanshawe Dam before starting his own business, Heinz Radio & TV, which he ran for over 26 years.
An amazing father and astute businessman, Walter was a kind and generous individual with a good sense of humour. He remembered all those whose paths crossed his, from employees and customers to friends from the German Canadian Club, London Flying Club, and 427 Wing. He loved dancing, music, and soccer, became a private pilot, an avid angler, and discovered golf after retirement. A man who barely rested in his 93 years is now at peace and has gone to join his beloved wife Gudrun, brothers, and dear sister, passing the torch to his son Kevin, cherished daughter-in-law Jane, and sister-in-law Pat.
To all of his kind friends who took the time to write or visit him in the nursing home, please know that these brightened his days enormously. Special thanks to the staff at Country Terrace in Komoka for taking such good care of him throughout his final years.
If you knew Walter, please take a moment to remember him privately. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or your local hospital charity.
