Obituary of Donald James Pilkington

May 7, 1932 – December 18, 2019 Donald James Pilkington passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital on December 18, 2019. Beloved husband, best friend and confidant of Bonnie, dearly loved father of Nancy (Joe) Windis, Brent (Vicki) and Darren (Devon). Proud grandpa of Christopher, Ashley (Abe), Emma (Clinton) and Alyssa (Bryce). Adored great grandpa of Hailey, Emilee, Aubree & Ainslea. He will be dearly missed by many family members and friends. Don moved to Mt. Brydges in 1945 with his parents, Jim & Viola Pilkington (predeceased). He continued to farm and live in Mt. Brydges area the rest of his life. Where he enjoyed being a successful egg producer and cash crop farmer. Don was actively involved in his community serving as a volunteer fire fighter with the Mt. Brydges Fire Department for 33 years, a member of the Mt. Brydges Lions Club for almost 50 years, a director with the Caradoc Delaware Mutual Insurance Company for 31 years, a member of the Tri Township Arena Board, Chairman of the Mt. Brydges Community Centre Building Committee and a member of the Mt. Brydges United Church where he served on their Board as well as a Trustee. The family would like to express a special thank you to Nurse Kim and the staff at the GBU – Victoria Hospital for the genuine compassionate care and Dr. Wells at Parkwood Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Mt. Brydges United Church, or the Mt. Brydges Lions Club. Arrangements are being entrusted to Elliott Madill Funeral Home, Mt.
