Obituary of Bonnie Elaine Pilkington
With saddened hearts, the family of Bonnie Elaine Pilkington share her passing, on Saturday, August 29th, 2026, peacefully surrounded by family at University Hospital.
She was predeceased by her soul mate Don Pilkington (2019). She was a loving mother to her children Nancy Windis (Joe), Brent Pilkington (Vicki) and Darren Pilkington (Devon), adored grandchildren Brad MacKenzie (Jessie), Christopher Zemnicky, Ashley Cooper, Emma Ostrander (Clint), Alyssa Graham (Bryce) and treasured great grandchildren Hailey Cooper, Mattaya Weaver, Emilee Cooper, Aubree Cooper, Ainslea Graham, Levi Graham, Adeline Ostrander, Lawson Ostrander and her fur grandchildren Cassie (predeceased) and Chester.
Mom chose teaching as a career until she married. Once the children came along, she devoted her time to raising them along with volunteer work with the Women’s Institute and the Baptist church women. After the children had all started school, she returned to supply teaching, on occasion. Mom was a caregiver, because she and dad were only children she cared for her mother, a couple of maiden aunts and her in-laws whom she loved dearly. Later in life they took up golf and travelling with friends. Mom loved to play cards and had many euchre and bridge friends. Mom also loved playing golf and really enjoyed playing with and made many friends with the women at Bear Creek and Hickory Ridge. Mom and dad moved to the United Church in Mt. Brydges, and she became very active volunteering her time and playing the piano and organ for services.
The family would like to thank the Cardiac and Palliative care teams for their dedication to help mom and the nursing staff for her care. A special mention to Claire and Renee who gave mom and the family peace and compassion for the last 24 hrs.
Family will receive friends at the ELLIOTT-MADILL FUNERAL HOME, Mount Brydges on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026, from 4pm – 7pm where the funeral service will be held on Thursday September 3rd, 2026, commencing at 1 pm. Rev. Charmaine Bailey officiating. Interment Mount Brydges Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mt. Brydges United Church – General Fund, Alzheimer’s Society or Mt. Brydges Caring Cupboard.
