Obituary of Anthony Manuel Cravo Neves
On a beautiful Monday, June 22nd, 2026, while cutting grass outside his home of nine years in Highgate, Ontario, Antonio “Tony” Manuel Neves, formerly of Mount Brydges, in his 71st year.
Tony leaves behind his daughter, Elizabeth Viola Neves (Lisa), his son-in-law, Scott Michael Andrew, and his cherished grandchildren, Ethan Joseph and Lily Diana Andrew.
He is also survived by several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was well-known in the Mount Brydges and surrounding areas and had many supportive lifetime friends throughout.
Tony's life journey brought him many friendships, challenges, and relationships that shaped the man he became. He was hardworking, loyal, and he loved hard.
At a younger age, he became an entrepreneur by creating his own business and running an independent landscaping company suitably named Meticulous Grounds Maintenance. He loved his clients and working outdoors. His attention to detail was left on every project he worked on.
After his massive stroke at 35, he suffered neurological damage which caused deep chronic pain for half his life. He fought the disease of Parkinson’s Dystonia every single day, masking it to others and trying to live a normal life.
He loved his music.
He was known to have the walls shake with his thunderous stereo. Even if you visited him recently, it was more than likely you arrived at his home while it boomed with Pink Floyd, The Tragically Hip, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles or many other rock bands from the 70's, 80's or 90's.
Sports was his solace and when he could no longer play, he would watch. NASCAR, hockey, and baseball were his favourites, but he would watch any kind of sport if it was on.
His contagious laugh brought smiles to almost anyone who heard it. It was pure and genuine. Undoubtably, you could find him searching through his tv programming for either one of his two favourite shows, The Simpsons or The Big Bang Theory.
To the very end, he loved to help people. For a short time after his stroke, he drove a bus of disabled kids. On the day of his death, he graciously donated organs to those in need, helping between 70-85 people that same night.
He was a simple man, valuing his personal space and immensely loving his two grandchildren - Ethan and Lily. He spoke to others of how proud he was of them. They weren’t just a part of his life; they were his heart.
Family had a small private gathering at the ELLIOTT-MADILL FUNERAL HOME, Mount Brydges in his honour.
