Obituary of Thor Edvard Micheelsen
After a valiant fight, with his family by his side on Sunday, May 24th, 2026, Thor Micheelsen of Mount Brydges in his 83rd year.
Beloved husband for 57 years of Elaine Micheelsen (nee: Costello). Loving father of Leanne (Jamie Plank) Micheelsen. Proud grandpa of Quentin and Caitlyn. Dear brother of Randi Waade. Survived by his nieces Karen, Lisa, Mariann and Linda and his nephew Jann. Predeceased by his parents Karl and Erna Micheelsen and by his brothers Henri, Gert and Benny.
Thor was an avid fisherman, lover of nature and the outdoors, investing his entire life caring for and nurturing animals. He had great pride in his profession, working with horses as a farrier for 45 years. His profound knowledge of birds, butterflies and moths is something he has ingrained in his entire family and will be treasured forever.
Family will receive friends at the ELLIOTT-MADILL FUNERAL HOME, Mount Brydges on Friday, May 29th, 2026, from 11 am to 1 pm where the Celebration of Thor’s Life will be held commencing at 1 pm. Private family interment Mount Brydges Cemetery.
