Obituary of David Charles Moore
Dave passed away at his home on Monday, February 9th,2026 in his 77th year. After a long and courageous battle, he is finally at peace. His family was everything to him. He leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Lynda, and his much-loved daughters Lisa (Rob), Krista (Wade), Melissa (Trevis), Michelle (Mark), and Danielle. His grandchildren were truly his pride and joy. Meghan shared a special bond with her grandpa through their love of NASCAR, while Taylor connected with him over their passion for horses. Dave treasured the many summer memories made travelling in the motorhome with his grandson Lincoln.
In the past two years, Dave set many personal goals, the most important being to be here for the birth of his great-grandson, Cooper—a moment that meant the world to him.
Affectionately known as “Mr. Christmas,” Dave’s love for the holiday was legendary. His brightly coloured, slightly tacky Christmas tree went up in his room immediately after Thanksgiving, and Hallmark Christmas movies played year-round, often starting in the summer.
Dave was a devoted hockey fan and proudly served as a trainer for the Blades Jr. B team. He was also a dedicated member of the Strathroy Lions Club. Together, Dave and Lynda owned Nielsen’s Flowers and the Country Goose Flower Shop for over 30 years. Dave was the automotive manager at Strathroy Walmart before retiring.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ivan and Joyce Moore; his mother-in-law, Mary Down; his sisters, Sandy and Barb; and his son-in-law, Patric.
Dave’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Panuganty and her team at the Verspeeten Cancer Clinic for their exceptional care. They also wish to thank home care nurse Joanne and nurse practitioner Phil for the kindness, compassion, and support they showed Dave and his family during this difficult time.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Cremation has taken place and at Dave's request, there will be no service.
