Obituary of Lorraine Nicholas
The family of Lorraine Nicholas, of Oneida Nation of the Thames is deeply saddened to announce her passing from this world on Thursday January 8th, 2026, in her 80th year.
Lorraine was survived by her children Chyleen Nicholas and Brian (Velma) Nicholas, her grandchildren Leon Shipman, Chyann Nicholas, Bradley George, Devon George, Duran Nicholas, Denon Nicholas, Bronson Nicholas and Beatrice Nicholas and several great-grandchildren as well. Lorraine was survived by Siblings George, Issac (Kelly), Diana, Jake and Tim.
Predeceased by her Mother Marietta Nicholas, Grandparents Louis Nicholas and Nellie Bread, Siblings: Martin, Joann, Sharon, Sherry and grandson Brennan.
Born in London, Ontario and grew up with her grandparents on Oneida Nation of the Thames. She had a tremendous love for gardening and her house plants. In Lorraine’s younger years she had a very social lifestyle and loved playing golf, Bingo and bowling. She was well known for hosting many parties and gatherings at her home. Lorraine was proud of her house and yard and kept both in pristine condition. She loved to camp in her RV when we had our annual Family reunions. She loved to sit outside in the summer on her back deck and enjoyed a nice BBQ. She had a comfortable life, always sporting a new vehicle and she was always a very stylish and beautiful woman.
Lorraine retired but had worked at the Ford Assembly Plant for 35 years. Lorraine will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, close cousins and friends.
Visitation for Lorraine will be held at Oneida Longhouse on River Road, Oneida Settlement on Saturday January 10, 2026 after 2pm. There will be a celebration of her life on Sunday January 11, 2026, at 11am, Oneida Longhouse.
Interment Nicholas Road Cemetery.
