My deepest condolences. I went to elementary school with Tyler back at good old Caradoc Central (now Caradoc), and I have such warm memories of him. He had a way of making everyone laugh, and he carried a gentle heart that drew people in. Everyone wanted to be Tyler’s friend. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family during this difficult time.

Tonight with my two superheros we shared stories to honour the life of an extraordinary young man whose presence blessed our family and our community far beyond his years. From the moment Tyler stepped into my husband Dan’s life as his Auxiliary First Nations Police partner—astonishingly mature and dedicated at the age of sixteen—it was clear he possessed a rare and remarkable spirit.
I will never forget the first time I met him. He walked through the doors of the Provincial Communication Centre beside Dan, and in that instant, something simply fit. Tyler would become an enduring part of our love story in the sweetest, most unexpected way. I deeply cherished the bond those two big fellas shared—protective, loyal, and filled with a quiet understanding that only the closest partners and friends ever achieve. He was never fearful of the dark and walked through anything effortlessly.
Tyler embodied loyalty, courage, gentleness, and unwavering integrity. He was a warrior in the truest sense: steadfast, dependable, and resolute when duty called, yet endlessly kind and compassionate in every interaction. I took great comfort knowing that when Tyler was beside Dan, I never had to worry. Their partnership was effortless, grounded in trust and shared purpose, and strengthened by the countless stories that only two officers who care deeply for their community could collect.
My friendship with Tyler blossomed instantly—sealed over late-90s WWE nights, endless laughter-oh that laugh, and the unforgettable joy of sharing his very first live WWE event. His excitement was contagious. He cherished great music, great moments, and the people he loved-especially Wyatt - he assured me Danielle and Mikey would always be close when he would point out similarities in his relationship with his brother. He carried all of it with a humility and grace that made everyone around him feel at ease.
To us, Tyler was more than a friend; he was like having a rad little broski - we lovingly appreciate Veronica sharing her son with us. His devotion to his family—especially to his partner Alyssa and his cherished son, Ivan—reflected the depth of his heart. We extend our sincerest and deepest condolences to Alyssa and to Veronica, whose love shaped the incredible man we had the privilege to know. To our fellow community members I think we are all sharing this immense loss.
I look forward to telling young Ivan stories of his father—the adventures, the heroics, the camaraderie, and the way Tyler proudly filled the role of Robin to my Batman. Together, they built memories that will live on in every retelling.
Our children adored him as well. Whether he was mentoring Michael in goalkeeping before his first LNHL—lessons that excited Michael so much he could barely sleep—or stepping in to help with house-sitting and support whenever we needed it, Tyler showed up with the same steady kindness every time. His influence on our kids will stay with them forever.
As Deputy Fire Chief of Chippewas of the Thames, Tyler served with a pride that radiated from him. His commitment to his community was profound and heartfelt. The loss we feel today is shared across every life he touched, every person who felt the calm strength of his presence, and every moment he offered himself in service to others. His mentorship with Mikey encouraging him to also start volunteering at 16 will forever impact Michael’s path. Our sincerest condolences to his sisters and brothers of COTTFN Fire.
Tyler’s loyalty was unmatched. His character was exceptional. His legacy is enduring.
We will miss him deeply- we will carry his stories, his laughter, and his extraordinary spirit with us always.
