Obituary of Gilberto Pryce Flores - Kechego

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Gilberto Flores Kechego, who left us far too soon. Gilbert was a quiet and humble man, known for his gentle spirit, his quick wit, and his deep love for his family and friends. Though he often spoke softly, his laughter and sense of humor filled every room he entered.

Gilberto had a true passion for basketball, a sport he loved both to play and to watch. He also shared a special bond with his brothers they could often be found going to concerts together, creating memories filled with laughter, music, and joy. These were moments he cherished deeply, as they brought out his fun-loving and carefree side.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and community, who will carry his memory in their hearts always. Though he has left this world, his spirit, love, and the memories he created will continue to live on in all of us.

May his soul rest peacefully, and may those who loved him find comfort in knowing that his gentle light will never fade.

Family meant everything to Gilbert. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Melissa Kechego, and father, Luis Flores; his brothers Robert John, Diego Flores-Kechego, Kevin Flores-Palmer, and Jacob Flores-Daley and his sisters Marissa Kechego, Cheyanne Flores-Palmer, and Jade Flores-Daley. He also leaves behind his beloved grandmother, Yvonne Kechego, and joins his late papa, Vern Doxtator.

He will be deeply missed by his aunts Andrea Beaver, Peggy Beaver, and Chantelle Kechego and by his many other uncles and aunts, along with countless cousins, especially Myah Beaver, and cherished friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Vistation will be Tuesday evening 6pm at the chippewa community centre and the fire is at 6 Mashkode way (chantelle kechego’s).

Funeral Service to be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 commencing at 11 am at the Chippewa of the Thames First Nation Community Centre.
