Obituary of Ronald Paul Bothwell
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Paul Bothwell, who left this world peacefully on September 11th, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on February 21st, 1953, in Strathroy, Ontario, Ron made his home in Mt. Brydges, where he built a life filled with love, family, and quiet strength.
Ron was the beloved husband of Peggy Bothwell, his partner through all of life’s seasons. Together they raised a family that was his greatest joy: Patricia, Ronnie, Nicole (Darryl), Samantha (Riley), and Terrance (Audry). He also held a special place in his heart for his niece Melanie, whom he helped raise as his own. Ron was also the proud and loving grandfather to Heather, Myah, Kingsley, Ty, Adrian and Brianna, Blake and Maverick His love for his family was deep, steady, and unconditional—a love that will remain with them forever.
Those who knew Ron will remember him as one of the kindest souls to ever walk this earth. His gentle nature, warm smile, and quiet acts of generosity touched countless lives. He gave without asking, loved without condition, and always made those around him feel valued and safe.
Ron’s legacy is not one of grand gestures, but of everyday kindness—the sort that lingers in memories and hearts. He will be remembered in the laughter of his children, the strength of his family, and the countless moments of tenderness he gave so freely.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that love such as his never fades. It lives on—in the family he cherished, in the lives he touched, and in the countless ways he made this world gentler and brighter.
Family will receive friends at the ELLIOTT-MADILL FUNERAL HOME. Mount Brydges on Monday, September 15th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm. Mass to Celebrate Ron’s Life will be held at All Saint Parish, Strathroy on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025 commencing at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, the greatest way to honour Ron is to carry on his legacy of kindness—do something thoughtful for another, as he always did for so many.
