Obituary of Barbara Ann Powless

After a courageous battle with declining health at St. Thomas Hospital on Sunday, May 25^th, 2025, Barb “Tahyehawenunti – She Brings Things” Powless (nee: Doxtator), of Oneida Nation in her 77^th year. 

Beloved wife of the late Mac Powless.  Loving mother of Jamie (Bette) and the late Martin (May 20^th, 2025) (Reta Van Every).  Proud grandma of Jasmine, Joel, Danielle, Zoe (Adam), Sloan, Mac, Ezra and great grandma of Juliet.  Fondly remembered by her “sisters” Joanie Doxtator and Marion Mussell.  Predeceased by her parents Ronald and Christina Doxtator and her brothers Harry (February 22^nd, 2025), Cecil (May 28^th, 2021) and Darryl (December 23^rd, 2020).

Family will receive friends at the ELLIOTT-MADILL FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, May 28^th, 2025 from 7 – 9 pm where the Celebration of Barb’s life will be held Thursday commencing at 11 am.  Cremation to follow.
