To the Powless family - I've been thinking about Barb a LOT the past few weeks. I finally reached out today, only to learn of her recent passing. My deepest sympathies!
I first met Barb when Nokee Kwe was located downtown, about 20 years ago. I met some of Barb's family including her son, Martin, at Nokee Kwe when they celebrated Barb's 25th (30th?) work anniversary. When I think of her, I can see her big smile and hear her hearty LAUGH! Barb was FUNNY, and it was a joy to be in her presence. She was always kind, and generous with her thoughts and her time.
As Past President, we met regularly to review financial matters (and often share a hug, because I just loved this dear woman), and I spent many hours meeting in her office. She was such a dedicated, hardworking person, and she believed in the causes supported by Nokee Kwe's programs. Barb was a great person, and she will be missed!
