Obituary of Albert John Aarts

Albert Aarts, “Al” passed away at his residence in Strathroy Caradoc in his 81st year on Friday, March 21st, 2025. It is with great sadness for all who knew and loved and cared for him.

Albert is survived by his wife, Joan and dearly loved father of Brenda (Trevor), Kim (Vic), Sharlene, Justin and Greg (Irayda). Cherished grandfather of Tyler, Jacob, Ashley (Travis), Kay, Kea, Shay, Seneca, Mackenzie, Nolan, Gilby, Lincoln and Sophia; and his great granddaughter Brea. He was the son of the late John and Mary (Van Bussel) Aarts. Dear brother of late, Frank (Anna), Anne, Tony (late JoAnn), Bill (Sandra), Paul (Brenda) (late Catherine), Ron, Gerry (Mary), late John (Loralee), Mary-Anne (Mike) and many nieces and nephews.

Albert was born Heusden, Holland and was the fifth of 10 children. Our dad along with his family immigrated to Canada in 1951. He was a workhorse, a self-taught “jack of all trades”. He was an electrician, a mechanic, a welder, a carpenter, operator, engineer, inventor, farmer, teacher, mentor, techie, and a gardener, but never a cook. There wasn’t anything Albert couldn’t do, no project too big or too small. AI was always willing to lend a hand and his expertise. Although Albert had a “tough as nails” exterior, he had a soft side. He’d greet everyone with an infectious smile, a tight handshake or a great big hug and an “I love you”. He had so many acquaintances, neighbors, and friends who adored and loved him. He will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Al’s life which will take place on Friday, April 4th from 4 to 8 at Caradoc Sands Golf Club, 24500 Saxton Road, Strathroy.
