





Obituary of Hugh Reginald French
After a brief illness at LHSC, Victoria Campus, London, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Hugh French of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation peacefully passed away in his 74th year.
Survived by his wife Daphne French (nee Fisher) his children, Kim (Calvin), Reg (Melissa), Connie (Lee), Frank, grandsons Julian and Jake. Loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Fur babies, Jobie, KiiKii and Ringer. Predeceased by Grandparents George (1983), and Cassie French (1996), his favorite uncles Norman (2019) and Ted (1969), Stepfather Beverly White (2005) and brother, Tim White (2014). Survived by his mother Marjorie White (nee French), sister Maureen and brother-in-law Tom (AKA the Hawk). Special uncle to Jeremy and Deanna (Scott) (AKA Danielle), great nephew Brandon. Will be missed by many cousins.
Hugh was a former street stock race car driver (Car # 40) at Delaware Speedway Park in the late 70’s to mid 90’s. Hugh had a passion for building and restoring vintage cars and was known as an avid Dodge truck and car fanatic. He spent many years at the local car shows.
Friends may call at the ELLIOTT-MADILL FUNERAL HOME, Mt Brydges for visitation on Sunday March 16, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday March 17, 2025 commencing at 11:00 a.m.
Interment Colbourne Cemetery, Chippewa.
In lieu flowers, donations can be made to local pet shelters or the London Humane Society as Hugh loved pets.
