Len,
We only saw your mother when she visited California. I remember her as being kind, generous, and full of knowledge. In fact, she taught me something on one of her visits. I was sitting next to her at a softball game when a batter grounded out to second on a close play. She hollered "Homer!" That confused me because that's not my definition of a home run. She told me that a Homer is a referee that makes calls favoring the home team. I asked her if Len was a Homer and she replied, "Ohhhh, yeah." I cracked up then and it still makes me smile thinking about it now.
