Sincere condolences to Cleve, Joanne and the family in the loss of a beautiful lady.. always there to help. Her cakes were the best and she did not only the wedding cake but also the flowers for our daughter's wedding. She was definitely a pillar of the community. So very sorry we were unable to attend her visitation. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

I have had the honour of knowing Phyllis for the past thirteen years through VON. Her kindness and compassion touched so many lives. She just had this genuine way of making everyone feel welcome. Phyllis was a bright light that will shine on forever. I will miss her smile and the kindness she so willing gave. She leaves a legacy of love that will live on in my heart and the hearts of everyone who knew her. My deepest, most heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones.

Phyllis was one of a kind. Through my 4 years working at VON, leading the summer event Phyllis was our "Cake Lady" and so much more. She gave her skills, her time, her supplies, was a participant, a fundraiser and a champion. I feel honoured to have known and enjoyed Phyllis' kindness and support. My deepest sympathy to family and friends, this is a great loss for you, the community and beyond.

My sincere and deepest condolences to Cleve, Louise and all of Phyllis' family. When I first looked at building a house in Mount Brydges 20 years ago, the wife of one of my longest and best friend Nancy Smith said she thought I was building beside her Aunt Phyllis and sure enough that was the case. I could not have asked for a better and more caring neighbour. Besides her great cooking skills which I am sure added a few pounds to my waist, she was always looking out for her neighbours. After my wife passed, Phyllis was always looking out for me, making sure I was okay. She will be missed I know by the whole community and her VON connections but especially by me!

We are saddened to hear of Phyllis' passing. We are grateful she was able to come to Doreen's visitation, it was wonderful to visit with her and share some old family camping pictures. Phyllis was a great lady and a wonderful friend to Mom.
Doreen always said "Phyllis makes the best carrot cake!" And she sure did.
Please know we are holding your family in our hearts, our thoughts and our prayers.
Peace be with you and Phyllis,
Rick and Kathie Smith

Phyllis was an outstanding representation of community, compassion, understanding and love. I had the pleasure of working with Phyllis while at my time with VON in Strathroy. She was always willing to help and made incredible baked goods.
What an incredible woman who will be deeply missed..

Phyllis always astounded me with her energy and how much she could accomplish in a day ! I worked for VON and got to know her in the various capacities of her many volunteer roles. She participated in endless fund-raisers and events, was a volunteer driver, and created countless cakes for special functions. Her squares were the absolute best! She was a sincere, dedicated soul, whose impact on our community was boundless. Although mere words can never say enough, we want to express our heartfelt condolences to family and friends. Phyllis’s legacy will continue to inspire us.
Sincerely, Diane DaPonte

I have had the honour to work with Phyllis for many years at the VON. My first day of work at the Strathroy office I met Phyllis, and she welcomed me and assured me that I was where I needed to be. Every time I saw Phyllis from that day on, her smile, empathy, passion and dedication was comforting, reassuring and energizing. She had a way about her that was felt by all she met.
She has left a legacy here at the VON that will never be forgotten.

To Phyllis's family ~
To have lived a long & happy exemplary life, to be loved & respected by so many ~ her family, friends, & community we know that Phyllis has certainly deserved her place in Heaven. She was a bright shining light. Time takes it's toll but her light will never be dimmed, Phyllis's light shines brightly in the beautiful gift of memories that she so generously gave us with smiles, laughter, & love.
For her 90th birthday a few of us stood on her lawn to sing happy birthday to her ~ she served us cake! Cake lady indeed!
Offering my prayers for the love of a wonderful lady.
