Terrence Ramsay

Obituary of Terrence Williamson Ramsay

Terrence Williamson Ramsay, affectionately known as Terry to his friends and family, left this world on January 6, 2025, at the age of 84, in London, Ontario. Born on July 11, 1940, Terry spent most of his life in Toronto, Ontario moving to the London area in the last few years.

Terry was a man who whose warm presence and kind-hearted laughter filled every room he entered.

He was predeceased by his parents, David Gordon Ramsay and Emily Blanche Ramsay; his sister, Judith Ramsay Brown; and his cherished wife, Elken Elizabeth Ramsay.

Terry is survived by his children, Greg Ramsay (Shaheen), Cindy Ramsay (Scott) and Debbie Ramsay, and grandchildren Amina, Noah, Emma, Jaclyn and Rebecca. He will be fondly remembered and celebrated by his family and friends.

In addition to Terry's passion for life, family and friends, he loved jazz music and comedy. He was a familiar face at both the Just for Laughs comedy festival and the Jazz Festival in Montreal. He was known for his sense of humor, quick comebacks and his loving and kind nature.    He approached life with compassion, generosity and a quick wit. Terry's legacy is one of love—love for his family, his friends, and the simple pleasures of life: good music, good food (in recent years, particularly snacks), and laughter.

As we say farewell to Terry, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by the love he shared and the happiness he brought to those around him.

Although Terry will be profoundly missed, his memory will forever be carried in our hearts. The world was brighter with him in it, and his absence will be felt deeply by all who were fortunate enough to know him, but we take comfort in the stories we share and the memories we cherish.

Terry's life will be celebrated privately by his family, and his legacy will be honored in the way he lived his life—with love, laughter, and kindness.
