Obituary of George E. Henry

Peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 10th, George E. Henry of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation in his 77th year began his spirit journey  Loving Husband of Theresa (Deleary) for over 53 years.  Cherished Father of Leslee (Dennis) White-Eye, Shelby Henry, David Henry and Carolyn Henry. Loving Grandfather of Devan, Jonaa, Karsyn, Justin, Niigonii, Jiindazay, Jadyn and Alyssa. 
Predeceased by parents Gordon and RoseAnn.  Missed by sister Genevieve Bujarski and brother Wayne Henry.  Predeseased by siblings Leo, Bruce, Arnold, Marilyn, Roger, Gordon and Gloria. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Missed by Pow wow family, dedicated water protectors, and his fellow community leaders throughout Turtle Island. Miigwech to his community Deshkaan Ziibing whom he loved and served.

Friends will be received by the family at the Elliott Madill Funeral Home Mt. Brydges for an Anishinaabek wake on Friday January 12th from 6pm - 10pm. Funeral Service to be held on Saturday at 11am from the Chippewa Community Center.  Interment Colbourne Cemetery. Followed by a feast at Chippewa Community Centre.
